Customers in southeast Georgia can now support Girl Scouts in their local area, helping these girls unbox brighter futures for themselves. This year, the organization will also say goodbye to the beloved cookie flavor, Girl Scout S’mores®.

Food Lion Feeds’ annual Sack to Give Back program tackled food insecurity during the 2024 collegiate football season, teaming up with 35 colleges, including Georgia Southern, to provide the equivalent of 793,000 meals to campus food pantries and local food banks. By donating 1,000 meals for every quarterback sack, this initiative continues to make a meaningful impact across Food Lion’s 10-state footprint.

AgSouth Farm Credit has awarded nearly $200,000 in grants to 43 non-profit organizations through its 2024-2025 Growing Our Communities Grant program. These grants will support projects that promote agriculture and strengthen rural communities across Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Two awardees are from Statesboro.

Synovus Bank honored the memory of their late employee, Steven Sanders, by dedicating the main lobby of their Statesboro branch in his name. The ceremony, attended by family, friends, and colleagues, celebrated Sanders's significant contributions to the bank and the community, highlighting his dedication to customer service and his genuine care for others.

Future educators in Bulloch County received a major financial boost with a combined $7,000 donation from CORE Credit Union and Bulloch Solutions. The funds will support scholarships awarded by the Bulloch Retired Educators Association (BREA), helping aspiring teachers pursue their educational goals.
