The Averitt Center for the Arts is thrilled to announce its first ever Statesboro Festival of the Arts. A collaborative team, including The Averitt Center for the Arts, the Downtown Statesboro Development AuthorityVisit Statesboro, and other community partners, is proud to present The Statesboro Festival of the Arts, set to take place March 22-23, 2025 in Downtown Statesboro.

This fine-arts-focused festival will celebrate creativity by bringing together local and regional artists for a weekend filled with live demonstrations, interactive exhibits, fine art shopping, and family-friendly activities. The festival will showcase 40 artist booths with a multitude of art forms, including ceramics, metalwork, woodwork, painting, and more.

“Our mission is to educate people on the value of art and the impact it can have on tourism,” said Kim Riner, the visual arts director. “We have been having meetings and planning for this festival for over a year.”

Beyond the art, guests can enjoy delicious food and beverages from local vendors and experience live music performances throughout the event.

To ensure high artistic standards, all participating artists are selected through a blind jury process led by two art professionals. Jurors assess each application based on aesthetic merit, originality, technical skill, and marketability.

Only the top-ranked artists have been invited to the exhibit, and a waitlist is made to maintain a balanced variety of artistic styles. The Festival judge will select standout artists for a share of $5,000 in cash prizes.

The Averitt Center for the Arts is downtown Statesboro’s leading non-profit organization that aims to create an inclusive environment for the community to learn to appreciate the arts. The mission of the Averitt Center for the Arts is to build “a community that values and supports an enduring legacy that contributes to the evolution of Statesboro as a hub for the arts.” The Statesboro Festival of the Arts is designed to help the community find a new passion for art.

“We hope people find something that they love about the arts, but mainly, we hope that they walk away thinking they had a fun time,” said Riner.

The Statesboro Festival of the Arts will be held at The Market at Visit Statesboro and McTell Trail on Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 23. Free admission for the general public.
