The Weather Channel is broadcasting live in Downtown Statesboro on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 as part of their Hurricane Idalia coverage. Grice Connect fans began sending us messages around 2:00 PM letting us know Statesboro had made national news.
Stephanie and her crew are camping out in the East Main foyer of Synovus Bank. When she is ready to broadcast, she steps out into the weather with the camera operator and camera under the shelter of the bank foyer.
She is struggling a little with Statesboro geography we understand, confusing South Main with South College Street.

Hurricane Idalia Update
The down side of her being here, we can expect a few more hours of heavy wind and rain. The winds have slowed some and the rainfall indicators have decreased, but it still appears we will have the most impacts through late evening Wednesday.
