Statesboro, GA – Monday, March 31, 2025 – 3:15 PM EDT – The National Weather Service (NWS) Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch (WS 89) for Bulloch County and numerous surrounding counties in Southeast Georgia. The watch is in effect until 9:00 PM EDT this evening.
The affected counties include: Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Berrien, Brantley, Brooks, Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Candler, Charlton, Chatham, Clinch, Coffee, Cook, Echols, Effingham, Evans, Glynn, Irwin, Jeff Davis, Jenkins, Lanier, Liberty, Long, Lowndes, McIntosh, Pierce, Screven, Tattnall, Ware, and Wayne.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch means that conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. These storms may be capable of producing damaging winds, large hail, and isolated flash flooding.
Residents in Bulloch County and the surrounding areas are urged to remain alert, monitor local news outlets and weather radio for updates, and have a plan in place in case severe weather develops. If severe thunderstorms do develop, residents should seek shelter in an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, away from windows.
