Eagles Baseball Drops Game Two to The Georgia State Panthers, 8-2

DECATUR, Ga. – The Georgia Southern baseball team dropped the second game of a three-game Sun Belt Conference series to Georgia State on Saturday afternoon at the Georgia State Baseball Complex, 8-2. The Panthers take the season series over the Eagles with the win.
 
Georgia State (26-26, 13-13 SBC) scored first in the bottom of the second inning off a wild pitch. In the bottom of the third inning, the Panthers scored two more runs from wild pitches. Georgia Southern (24-26, 14-12 SBC) got on the board in the top of the fourth inning with an RBI-groundout by Kyler Hultgren, driving Corey Dowdell over the plate and cutting into the lead, 3-1. The Panthers would not score again until the bottom of the seventh inning where they scored two, first from a bases-loaded walk and then from a wild pitch, taking a 5-1 lead. Georgia State scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning from two RBI-doubles and an RBI-single to take the 8-1 lead. The Eagles would score one more in the top of the ninth inning with a Sam Blancato RBI-single, which plated J.C. Peacher, but the Eagles would fall 8-2 to the Panthers.
