Tree Board appointments are a three-year term, with meetings taking place once a month. The deadline to apply to be considered for an appointment is May 3.

Family and Kids fishing events are sponsored across the state by multiple partners, such as counties and municipalities, conservation groups and more. The Georgia DNR Wildlife Resources Division co-sponsors many events by providing channel catfish or trout to improve fishing, educational materials for participants and guidance for sponsors.

Through a unique and collaborative singing group called the Savannah Songbirds, the RiteCare Center for Communications Disorders uses this group to raise awareness of PD while providing therapeutic support through the power of music. The Savannah Songbirds will host their next performance in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Armstrong Campus on April 29 at 11 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Coastal Georgia, the agency that partners with Feed the Boro to provide food for monthly food drops, recently cut the ribbon on their new campus located in Savannah, GA.

Students from Bulloch County were among the 100+ students to attend the event, which offered hands-on and virtual workshops, group training sessions, and one-on-one coaching.

The AGAware® Workshops introduce farmers to a variety of financial related topics critical to running an operation. These topics include Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Family Finance & Family Budgeting, Risk Management, Accrual Income, Applying for Financing, Preparing a Business Plan, Technology & Record Keeping, FSA/SBA and Other Programs.

Both the large attendance and the eagerness of the job candidates impressed the event’s employers, who were seeking qualified candidates for 30 job titles, with multiple openings for the positions.
