A single-vehicle crash on Saturday evening, January 18, 2025, claimed the life of one man on Stilson-Leefield Road, just south of GA Highway 24.
Bulloch County 911 received the call at approximately 9:12 p.m., dispatching Bulloch County EMS, Bulloch County Fire, Bulloch Sheriff's Officers, and Georgia State Patrol (GSP) troopers to the scene.
Bulloch County Sheriff's Deputies were the first to arrive, finding the male driver had been ejected from his vehicle. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Deputies immediately began rendering aid. Upon arrival, paramedics and firefighters determined the victim had succumbed to his injuries and requested Bulloch County Coroner Chuck Francis to the scene.
Preliminary reports indicate the driver of a Chevrolet truck was traveling on Stilson-Leefield Highway when he failed to negotiate a curve, resulting in the crash. Investigators believe the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
GSP Post 45 Trooper First Class Matt Davis is leading the ongoing crash investigation. Coroner Francis is withholding the name of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
