September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month. And the CURE Childhood Cancer foundation has many different opportunities for local support and donations this season.
The CURE foundation cites cancer as being the second leading cause of death in children. And CURE is the only organization which funds pediatric cancer research, while also providing financial and emotional support to children and families across Georgia (and parts of South Carolina). So, to garner more support from the public in contributing to this great cause, CURE has curated a full schedule of events in which locals can participate in this fall season.
Cookies for the cause
Two locations that will be participating locally are Chicken Salad Chick and Chick-Fil-A.
Today, September 5, Chicken Salad Chick will release a new Lemon Burst Buttercream Cookie to be sold with a portion of the proceeds being donated to aid pediatric cancer research through the CURE foundation. The cookies will be available throughout the month of September. Participating Chicken Salad Chick stores will be giving a free scoop of chicken salad for any donation to CURE, as well.
On Tuesday, September 20, the Chick-Fil-A store in Statesboro will be donating 100% of its Chocolate Chunk Cookie sales to the CURE Childhood Cancer organization. Donated sales will include those from both individual and 6-count cookies orders.
And coins for the cure
If you, or your organization, may be interested in fundraising money for the CURE foundation, the “Coins4CURE” coin drive fundraiser may be a good option for you. “Coins4CURE” coin drives can take place in schools, businesses, restaurants, neighborhoods, and throughout various other avenues that you might imagine. And all money raised will be donated to CURE, to aid the local families and children who are fighting cancer.
The coin drive is an easy and convenient option for the public to contribute support for the fight against cancer. What’s more, virtual coin jars can be set up, as well. This option may be even quicker and more feasible than the standard physical coin jars in years past.
If your business or organization may be interested in signing up for a “Coins4CURE” fundraising jar, please visit CURE's website to fill out your form so that supplies and materials may be sent to you.
