Meet 2024 DWTSS Dancers Ken Jackson and Mallory Culbreth

Introducing Ken Jackson and Mallory Culbreth, 2024 DWTSS contestants! Grice Connect is introducing the community to the 2024 Dancing with the Statesboro Stars (DWTSS) dancers. The event will be held on Thursday, November 21 at 6:30pm, and the encore show will be Sunday, November 24, 2024 at 3pm -- both at Connection Church.

Presenting 2024 DWTSS Dancers Ken Jackson and Mallory Culbreth! They are competing along with eleven other teams to win the 2024 Mirror Ball Trophy Judges Choice award and the Top Fundraiser award. 

Dancing with the Statesboro Stars is a night of dancing and performances to raise funds and awareness for Safe Haven, the nonprofit organization that serves adult and child survivors of domestic violence in Bulloch and five surrounding counties.

The 14th annual Dancing with the Statesboro Stars presented by D&R Car Care will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024. The encore show will be Sunday, November 24, 2024 at 3pm at the Connection Church

Each day leading up to the event on November 9, 2024 we will introduce you to the 12 teams competing.

Meet Ken

Ken Jackson, a proud Metter, Georgia native, graduated from Metter High School in 2001. He furthered his education by earning an Associate’s degree in Business Administration from East Georgia College. Since 2006, Ken has called Bulloch County home, and for the last five years, he has been a resident of the City of Statesboro. 

 His passion for business is evident through his ownership of Leap Joy Inflatables, a popular business in downtown Statesboro that has been bringing joy to children since 2007. Additionally, he is a licensed Realtor with Remax Preferred, also located in downtown Statesboro and located inside of the Blue Mile. 

 Ken is dedicated to using his business acumen to foster community growth and prosperity. His commitment to the community is also reflected in his charitable work. He looks forward to bringing the community together through his creative efforts in and around the community.

Meet Mallory

Mallory Culbreth is from Cumming, Georgia but has made Statesboro her home since attending Georgia Southern University. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education and teaches eighth grade science at Langston Chapel Middle School. Mallory is currently attending Ogeechee Technical College where she is studying to obtain a second degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. In her free time, she enjoys working out at The Garage in Statesboro and taking opportunities to travel or enjoy outdoor adventures.

Mallory started competitive dance at the age of ten. Her home studio is Fusion Dance Company where she also taught a variety of dance classes. Her performance experiences, other than competitions, include the opportunity to dance at an Atlanta Hawks Basketball Game, dance the role of Clara and Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker at her studio, and various other local performances at school and community events.

This is her first year as a pro in Dancing with the Statesboro Stars, and she is looking forward to the opportunity to work with other community members to raise awareness for such an important organization while sharing her passion for dance.

About Safe Haven

Safe Haven is a program of Citizens Against Violence, Inc., a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) corporation.  It is the emergency safe house for adult and child victims of domestic violence serving Bulloch, Candler, Effingham, Jenkins, Screven and Washington counties.  Save Haven is open 24 hours per day/7 days per week.  The length of time at the shelter is based on personal plans and progress towards independence.

There is no charge for services provided at the shelter which include:

  • Access to a 24-hour crisis line
  • Immediate, safe, emergency shelter
  • Advocacy by knowledgeable, caring professionals
  • Case management services
  • Parenting classes
  • Family safety planning
  • Access to donated clothing and furnishings
  • Transportation
  • Legal Advocacy
  • Childcare
  • Community support
  • Housing assistance
  • Relocation services

Safe Haven's Crisis Line is available 24/7 at (912) 764-4605, and you can visit their Outreach office at 204 North College St. from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Advocates are available to assist with safety planning and explain the numerous free and confidential ways they support survivors of domestic violence in our community.
