On April 5, Ogeechee Technical College’s (OTC) gaming club, Out to Conquer, competed against Gwinnett Technical College in the popular team-based game Marvel Rivals. Both schools were required to compete in a best of seven (6-player team) gaming competition.

“Like many other sports, esports require teamwork, problem-solving, and technical skills,” said OTC Instructor, Terry Hand. “Events like these not only build connections and school spirit, but the tools and skills they use to compete directly align with what is needed in these growing industries like CIS and Cybersecurity.”

Marvel Rivals is a Superhero Team-Based PVP Shooter where players are asked to assemble an all-star Marvel squad, devise countless strategies by combining powers to form unique Team-Up skills, and fight in destructible, ever-changing battlefields across a continually evolving Marvel universe.

Gwinnett Technical College won in a very close 4-2 final score.

Out to Conquer’s supporting advisors are Terry Hand and April Burkes.
