On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, Zac Clark held a meet and greet at the Statesboro High School media center and was announced as the new head coach for the Blue Devils' baseball team.

Clark is a 2008 graduate of Jenkins County High School where he was a four-year letterman in baseball and football. He attended Brewton Parker College on a baseball scholarship and completed his education at Georgia Southern University in 2012 where he earned a bachelor’s degree in History.

It’s at Georgia Southern that he met his wife, Kendall, and they married in 2015. Zac's love for coaching and sports began at a young age as he followed alongside his father who was a coach for 30+ years at the high school level.

Zac worked as a lay coach for high school baseball and football at Jenkins County while he attended college. He lived in Statesboro for six years while he began his career at Jenkins County High School. He was the head middle school baseball coach for three years, which included a league championship appearance.

Coach Clark was also the head middle school football coach for five years, which included the school’s first league championship win.

He went on to serve as the high school baseball varsity assistant coach for two years before becoming the high school varsity head baseball coach. He has been the varsity baseball coach for the last eight seasons and led the team to six playoff appearances.

With the recent success of Statesboro's consecutive state playoff appearances, Coach Clark is looking to make an even deeper run in his first year.
