Saturday Night Fire Displaces Three Bulloch County Residents

A Saturday night fire has left three Bulloch County residents displaced after their Mill Creek Road home was engulfed in flames.

A Saturday night fire in the 4700 block of Mill Creek Road has left three Bulloch County adults without their home and personal possessions.

Bulloch County 911 communications dispatched Bulloch County Fire and Statesboro Fire Departments to the scene of the house fire at 9:23 PM on April 26, 2025.

Upon arrival, the first Bulloch County Fire engine reported heavy fire and smoke coming from a double-wide manufactured home, prompting a call for additional firefighters, tankers, and engines. Fire crews launched an aggressive attack on the blaze, bringing it under control within minutes. However, the home sustained extensive damage from fire, smoke, and water.

Fortunately, the three adult occupants of the home were able to escape the fire unharmed. Despite their safety, they lost nearly all of their belongings in the devastating fire.

Immediately following the incident, Tyrone Willis, Sheena Chapman, and Bill Taylor responded with the Statesboro Fire CAFE (Citizens Assistance in Fire Emergencies) and Bulloch VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) to provide immediate assistance to the displaced residents.

They have connected the individuals with the Red Cross, Fostering Bulloch Hope Chest, and the Statesboro Food Bank, all of whom will be providing immediate temporary assistance. The residents will also be connected with other local agencies to secure further aid and resources to support their recovery process.

Bulloch County EMS and Bulloch County Sheriff's Deputies also responded to the scene to provide assistance.

Bulloch County Fire will conduct a routine investigation into the cause and origin of the fire.
