South Georgia Tormenta FC secured a resounding victory over the Chattanooga Red Wolves with a 4-0 score Saturday, May 18 at Tormenta Stadium. South Georgia Tormenta FC has beaten Chattanooga in each home match played since 2019.

Before the time clock struck the double digits, Tormenta FC secured the first goal of the match when Aaron Lombardi sent a goal-line pass to Sebastián Vivas, who then slotted a shot to the left side of Chattanooga’s keeper TJ Bush, a former Tormenta FC player.

With a stint of challenging road matches, South Georgia entered the pitch with a fierce intensity, focusing on dynamic plays and attacking pressure. The 2023 USL League One Young Player of the Year Jackson Khoury made several pivotal plays, forging paths through Chattanooga’s defensive line to open up scoring opportunities for Tormenta.

South Georgia’s defense also seamlessly worked in unison to assist keeper Ford Parker in maintaining the lead. The Ibises found many opportunities to intercept passes and ward off attacking plays. Parker, in his usual form, made many key saves throughout the night to preserve the clean sheet.

In the second half, Tormenta FC found back-to-back goals in the 60th and 64th minutes of play. The first goal was found when Nick Akoto sent a cross to Ajmeer Spengler, who then blasted a shot sailing into the net. Then, Niall Watson claimed the third goal of the evening a mere 41 seconds after entering the pitch, finding a pass from Vivas and blasting it into the net.

The tenacity shown in the match from Tormenta was unwavering. The fourth goal of the night was found with ease when Vivas launched a right-footed shot between the posts following a pass from Spengler
