Louisiana Advances to Sun Belt Tournament Semifinals with 67-49 win over GS Men's Eagle Basketball

Louisiana advances to the semifinal round, while Georgia Southern Men's Basketball sees its season come to an end.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Jordan Brown collected 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Louisiana held Georgia Southern to 33 percent shooting from the field to earn a 67-49 victory over the Eagles Saturday night in the quarterfinals of the Hercules Tires Sun Belt Men's Basketball Championship in the Pensacola Bay Center.

Louisiana advances to the semifinal round, while Georgia Southern sees its season come to an end.

Eagles of the Game
Andrei Savrasov led the Eagles with 15 points and seven rebounds, and Kaden Archie finished with 10 points and four boards. Jalen Finch posted eight points, three steals and three rebounds, and Tyren Moore scored eight.

Key Moments 
The Eagles (17-16, 9-9) trimmed a 15-point halftime deficit down to nine twice in the second period but could get no closer. After Savrasov's jumper made the score 41-32, Louisiana responded with a 13-2 spurt, and Themus Fulks' transition layup made the margin 20 points with 8:06 remaining. The Eagles went 0 for 8 from the floor and committed five turnovers during the stretch. 

Louisiana (24-7, 13-5) took control of the game with an early 11-2 run, keyed by two Jalen Dalcourt triples, which opened a 10-point lead. Dalcourt hit another 3-pointer in a 9-2 spurt as the Ragin' Cajuns opened a 37-19 cushion with 3:44 left in the first half.

- Louisiana held the Eagles to 23 percent shooting from the field in the second half and 1 for 15 from 3-point range in the contest. 
- Georgia Southern's first 3-poiner of the game came with 45 seconds left, a jumper from the wing by Savrasov.
- Georgia Southern came into the game ranked fourth in the league in least turnovers per game but committed 16 tonight.
