The Georgia Southern (GS) women’s golf team tackled the links at Forest Hills this weekend.
Haley Yerxa shot 72-73=145 (+1) to tie for 14th and lead the GS women's golf team to finish in 12th place at the Valspar Augusta Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club.
The field featured seven teams in Golfstat's top-50 and six in the top-25. Second-ranked Wake Forest won the event. Augusta, the tournament host, finished second.
Florida State finished in third, while Ole Miss tied for fourth. The teams played two rounds — Saturday and Sunday's round was washed out due to weather.
Yerxa played the front nine two-under with birdies at three and eight on her way to a 72 in the first round and birdied her last two holes of the second round to post 73. It was her fifth top-20 finish this season and in a field that had 16 players in Golfstat's top-100.
