GS track star receives nod from Sun Belt Conference

Georgia Southern's NaJ Watson set a personal-best mark to earn the Sun Belt Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week honors. 

Eagle freshman Watson also broke the GS record in the 200 with a time of 23.23 at the Black and Gold Invite in the Eagles' outdoor season opener. Her time is the best in the country and she leads the Sun Belt in the event.

Texas State's Elisabet Runarsdottir was also given the conference honors. 

Bobcats' freshman, Runarsdottir threw 61.99 meters/203-4 in the women's hammer throw at the UTSA Invitational to win the event and post the best throw in the Sun Belt in the event so far this season. 

The toss was the 10th-best in school history and a freshman record. It also ranks first in the region, third in the NCAA West region and fifth nationally.
