Haley Yerxa shot 73-71-71 (215) to finish 1-under to lead Georgia Southern women's golf to a sixth-place finish at the Boilermaker Classic at Kampen Course.

Three Eagles finished in the top-30, led by a ninth-place finish from Yerxa. Freshman Emma von Hoffmann finished 21st and freshman Louise Reau tied for 30th. Seniors Abby Newton and Alex Stevenson rounded out the Eagle lineup with T51 and T63 finishes, respectively.

Yerxa was one of 11 players to shoot under par for the tournament and was bogey free on the front nine in rounds one and two. She made three birdies in the second round and four in the final round to shoot 1-under for the tournament.

The Eagles finished the tournament strong, posting a low round of 292 on the final day.

Host Purdue pulled away in the second round to win the team title by six strokes over Alabama.

Head Coach Mimi Burke Quotable
"We are extremely proud of the team and their grit this tournament. They really showed what they are capable of in a solid field and haven't touched their best golf yet; which is very exciting. We have to get back to the grind and tighten a few things up, long ways to go but this was a solid start to the fall season."
