The Georgia Southern baseball team fell to the Kennesaw State Owls 4-3 on Tuesday night at J.I. Clements Stadium. Georgia Southern falls to 7-10 on the season while Kennesaw State improves to 8-6.

The Owls got on the board first in the top of the second inning when an RBI-double scored the first run of the game. In the top of the fourth inning, a two-RBI single extended the Kennesaw State lead to 3-0, and a solo homer in the top of the sixth inning gave the Owls a 4-0 lead.

Georgia Southern broke a 17 scoreless inning drought in the bottom of the seventh inning, when a sac fly to center field by J.C. Peacher scored Blake Evans, now trailing 4-1 but starting to make a dent. In the bottom of the eighth inning, the Eagles plated two more runs, first from a Cameron Crosby RBI-single to third base, scoring Jonathan Jaime, and second from a Jarrett Brown hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded, scoring JP Tighe and closing the gap at 4-3. The Owls pitching was able to end the threat by applying a force out at home to close the inning.

Ga'von Wray was tagged with his first loss of the season, pitching for four innings with give hits, three earned runs, and four strikeouts on the night.
