SEB Girls Soccer Fired Up For Upcoming Season

The SEB Lady Jackets’ soccer team is led by head coach Aimee Civalier. SEB finished with a 9-8-1 record last season while going 4-2 in region play. They finished the regular season out going 7-2-1 in their last 10 games to get to the state playoffs. In the first round, the Yellow Jackets defeated Spalding to advance to the second round where their season would end.

The Yellow Jackets are looking to take the momentum they had into this season. Coach Civalier spoke on their goals for the season. “Our goals are to develop each player to the best of their her ability,” Civalier said. “We want to establish a hard work ethic in a team-first environment to win games and have fun.”

Coming into the season, the team is going to lean on their experience. Seniors Daisy Calhoun, Sarah Arsenault, Anely Vazquez, Emme Barrett and Maya Stringer are the leaders of the group.

Being in a tough region, SEB is going to be in a battle to finish at the top. “We will try to win as many games as possible to put ourselves in the best power ranked position possible,” Civalier said.

SEB Boys Looking to Make Deep Run this Season

Antonio Mireles is back as the head coach for the Southeast Bulloch Boys Soccer Team. SEB finished with a 6-9-1 record in the regular season in 2024. Despite a rough record, the Yellow Jackets advanced to the 2nd round of the playoffs after defeating West Laurens.

Mireles has set a goal for his team after this performance in the playoffs. “Our goal is to make it past the 2nd round of the playoffs,” said Mireles. “Our main goal is to continue building a strong, competitive team that works together and improves each game.”

The team is going to look very different this season as the Jackets lost several seniors to graduation. “Losing key seniors is always an adjustment, but we have a great group of returning players ready to step up,” Mireles said. Seniors Elikem Gelo and Noah Burnham will take on more of a leadership role this year. However, Coach Mireles doesn’t want to overlook his underclassmen. “I think they’ll surprise a lot of people this year,” Mireles said.

This year the team is emphasizing chemistry, discipline, communication, and resilience. “When everyone is on the same page and playing for each other, great things can happens,” Mireles said.
