Five Eagles earn CSC Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country honors

Five standout Eagles have earned spots on the 2024 Collegiate Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, showcasing their stellar academic and athletic achievements.

Five Eagles have been named to the 2024 Collegiate Sports Communicators Academic All-District team as announced by the organization on June 20, 2024.

Makenna Hillmer, Sam Holbrook, Kennedy Hood, Imani Moore, and Na'ilah Moore are the Eagles' honorees. 

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA at their institution. Each school is allowed five honorees for the all-district team based on academic and athletic merit. 

Makenna Hillmer placed 14th overall in the heptathlon for the 10th best score in program history with 4709 points at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships. The Snellville, Georgia, native earns her second consecutive honor after being named to the team last season. Hillmer carries a 4.0 GPA in art and is an eight-time selection to the Georgia Southern President's List. 

Sam Holbrook set a personal best in shot put at the Georgia Southern Showdown with a mark of 10.31m before finishing 16th at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships in the hammer throw with a mark of 49.83m. The senior earned her second consecutive CSC Academic All-District honors and carries a 3.54 grade point average in exercise science. 

Kennedy Hood placed fourth at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships while placing eighth at the Outdoor Championships. The honor marks the first for the sophomore after carrying a 3.65 grade point average in political science.

Imani Moore was named third-team All-Sun Belt in both indoor and outdoor track this season after finishing third at both the indoor and outdoor championships. Moore set second-best school marks in both the triple jump (12.60m, SBC) and long jump (6.19m, East Coast Relays) during the outdoor season. The Fayetteville, Ga., native earns her second career honors carrying a 4.0 in interior design. 

Na'ilah Moore placed sixth at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships in the long jump with a mark of 5.95m for the 10th best mark in school history. The sixth-year senior earns her second career honors carrying a 3.78 while working towards her master's in professional communication and leadership.
