Mr. Waldo Bunch, age 78, died Tuesday at his residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Bulloch County native lived in Jenkins County for 30 years before returning to Bulloch County. He was a lifelong farmer, last working for Sam Bonnett Farms until his retirement.
Waldo loved to tell jokes, play his harmonica and do anything to make people laugh.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Mae Myers Bunch; a son Henry James Bunch; his parents, Milton and Ida Bunch; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Surviving are his children and spouses, Walter Bunch and Becky Bolton of Girard, Lucy and Arnold Bolton of Swainsboro; Walden Bunch of Portal, Rosa and Joseph Clarke of Millen, Ethel and Billy Quattlebaum of Girard, and Camilla and Johnny Hammock of Girard; a sister, Willadean and William Wilkerson of Register; four brothers, Frank and Sylvia Bunch of Metter, Roger Dale Bunch of Cobbtown, David and Marilyn Bunch of Metter and Milton and Susan Bunch of Kentucky; 23 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Friday October 20th from 1:00pm until the funeral hour in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
Funeral services will be at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roy Jarriel officiating.
Interment will be in Paynes Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Jenkins County.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
