If your New Year’s resolutions include fitness and fun, the Statesboro Family YMCA is offering one month free, plus no joiner’s fee, to anyone who joins now through January 31.
“Here’s to a happy and healthy NEW YEAR, from all your friends at the YMCA of Coastal Georgia! We believe in you and are here to help you crush your health and wellness goals this year!”
The joiner’s fee is normally $25, and a basic individual membership is $38, so if you’ve been curious about trying the Y, there’s no better time than now when both of these fees are waived for a savings of $63, says Caty Skarhus, Statesboro Family YMCA employee.
Skarhus adds that now is a great time to try out their offerings, including their classes and 24-hour facility access, because “it’s completely noncommittal. If you join now you get everything that’s included in the membership, but there’s no pressure to continue if it’s not a good fit after the free month."
She encourages anyone wanting to get more plugged in to the community to get involved at the Y. “We are a good community of people, and we do a lot for the community too. We did an angel tree at Christmas, we’re offering a Career Closet, and money from the memberships goes toward helping the community, since we are a nonprofit.”
The Statesboro Family YMCA offers 24-hour access to their facility which includes a fitness center, aerobics room, boxing room, spin room, yoga room, e-sports lounge, and more than 20 regularly scheduled group exercise classes. They also offer child watch during popular class times as well as after school programs.
As an added bonus, you can make room in your closet by donating gently used professional attire to the Career Closet located in the Y.
This weekend, the Statesboro Jaycees are hosting a professional clothing drive at the Y Saturday from 9am-12pm and Sunday from 12pm-3pm.
