A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 80 East and Brannen Pond Connector claimed the life of a woman Friday morning, January 10, 2025.

Bulloch County 911 dispatchers sent a multi-agency response, including Bulloch County Sheriff's deputies, Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Bulloch County EMS, and Bulloch County Fire, to the scene of the crash at approximately 7:23 a.m. The intersection is located east of Brooklet, GA.

According to the preliminary investigation by GSP, a tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound on Highway 80 when a minivan, heading west, attempted to turn left onto Brannen Pond Connector. Bulloch County Deputy Coroner Richard Pylant has withheld the name of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.

The collision caused significant traffic disruption, with law enforcement closing the affected section of Highway 80 for several hours to facilitate the crash investigation.

Trooper First Class (TFC) Brent Hammond of GSP Post 45 is leading the ongoing investigation into the incident.
