City of Statesboro accepting applications for several boards and commissions

The City of Statesboro is accepting applications for its One Boro Commission and Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful Advisory Board, with a deadline for submissions by Friday, September 27.

The City of Statesboro is currently accepting applications for appointments to its One Boro Commission and Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful Advisory Board. The deadline to apply to be considered for an appointment is Friday, September 27, 2024, at 5:00pm

Completed applications should be submitted to the office of the City Clerk in person at 50 East Main Street or by email to [email protected]. Applications for each of the open positions can be found at www.statesboroga.gov/boards-commissions.

About the One Boro Commission

The One Boro Commission, formerly the Commission on Diversity and Inclusion, was established in September 2018 and consists of 16 members appointed by the Statesboro Mayor and City Council. The appointments are for two-year terms. The commission is committed to promoting diversity, inclusion, and equity among the citizens of Statesboro.

The ultimate goal of the commission is to foster innovation, community awareness and ownership of public policy while also seeking to improve experiences for every citizen of Statesboro through open communication and collaboration. The commission meets on the first Monday of each month at 5:30 pm in the Statesboro Human Resources conference room at 58 East Main Street.

About the Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful Advisory Board 

The Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful Advisory Board was established in October 2016 and consists of seven members appointed by the Statesboro Mayor and City Council. The appointments are for two-year terms. The Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful Advisory Board has the authority to prepare studies and reports to inform the governing body, city officials, and city staff on policy matters related to implementing the goals of the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation within the corporate limits of the City of Statesboro.

The board currently meets on the third Monday of each month at 12:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 50 East Main Street.
