Amy Lingo announced as dean for Georgia Southern College of Education

Lingo, who has been interim dean of the College of Education at the University of Louisville for the last five years, brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership. She will join Georgia Southern on October 1.

Amy Lingo, Ed.D. has been selected as the new dean for Georgia Southern University’s College of Education (COE).

Lingo joins Georgia Southern from the University of Louisville, where she has been serving as the interim dean of the College of Education for the past five years. She brings with her a wealth of experience in educational leadership and a strong commitment to student success, academic excellence and innovation.

“Dr. Lingo’s extensive background in educator preparation and her proven track record in fostering collaborative partnerships will be invaluable as we continue to advance our mission and goals,” said Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs Carl Reiber, Ph.D.

With a career total of more than $15 million in external grant funding, Lingo has a keen eye for scholarship and research.

Lingo will join Georgia Southern on October 1.
