The American Legion Dexter Allen Post 90 will host its first evening meeting of the Veterans for Veterans support group this Thursday, October 12.
After leaving the service, some veterans may feel like they are missing out on the camaraderie that was once a part of their daily life. Veterans may struggle with silent battles they endured during military service.
No matter your struggles, you’re never alone in the company of other veterans. Most of the silent battles you endured, so have other veterans who understand. Sometimes civilian family members mean well, but they’re unable to offer the support that only other veterans can provide.
Join us Thursday, October 12th, 2023, at 6pm at The American Legion in Statesboro for our first group meeting.
Benefits of a veteran support group include:
- Knowing that you’re not alone in your struggles.
- Learning how to talk about your feelings and experiences with others.
- Meeting friends or mentors that can have a positive impact on your life.
The meeting will take place at the American Legion Post 90 at 100 Rucker Lane, Statesboro, Ga. For more information, please contact Bobby Godwin at [email protected].
The American Legion Dexter Allen Post 90 & Auxiliary's purpose is not only to join like-individuals, but to also continue to serve by helping the community (nursing homes, 4 VA hospitals, Vet Dogs, Boy Scouts, Boys State, Wreaths Across America, and cemetery flags during holidays).
