Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon to tour city sights

This year, the race will benefit the Girls on the Run of Coastal Georgia charity. Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based program designed to develop and enhance girls’ social, psychological and physical competencies.

Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon and 5K event will begin on March 31.

This year's Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon will pass by 14 of the city's iconic squares. The marathon and 5K event weekend will begin on Friday, March 31, with the Brooks Fashion Fitness Expo, where attendees can get decked out in race gear and Brooks Running apparel ahead of race day. The expo will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Charles H. Morris Center. 

Race day will kick off at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 1. Participants will run a half marathon or a 5K through 14 city squares, passing landmarks including Daffin Park and Grayson Stadium. Runners will finish at Forsyth Park where they will be greeted by a post-race party. The party will begin at 8 a.m. and will feature a performance by Erin McLendon & The Hellcats. Attendees will be offered free beer and mimosas. 

The event will conclude on Sunday, April 2, with a free yoga session in Ellis Square. Yoga instructors will guide attendees through a yoga program from 9 to 10 a.m. 

Registration for the 5K is $55, and the half marathon is $120.
