The Statesboro Alumnae Chapter and Xi Eta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in partnership with the Zeta Delta Delta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., will host the “Your Voice, Your Vote” discussion with the Rev. Dr. Roslyn Satchel, the new CEO of The New Georgia Project, on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 3:00 pm at the Georgia Southern University Russell Union Ballroom.
Rev. Dr. Roslyn M. Satchel has dedicated her life to fighting for justice, gender equality, social equity, diversity, and representation. Dr. Satchel joins the New Georgia Project and New Georgia Project Action Fund with over 30 years of experience serving marginalized communities and facilitating meaningful civic engagement.
She is a faculty associate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University and the Head Researcher at the Radow Institute for Social Equity at Kennesaw State University. She previously served as the Executive Director of the National Center for Human Rights Education and a Research Director for the DC Baltimore Center on Child Health Disparities at the Howard University School of Medicine. She is also a former MIT Feminist Future Fellow and Soros Justice Fellow.
“We are excited to have Dr. Satchel share her knowledge and expertise with our community to help us be better prepared for the upcoming general election,” said Vernetta Staten, President of the Statesboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Joshua Davis, Basileus of the Zeta Delta Delta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., and President of the Georgia Southern University National Pan Hellenic Council (NPHC) also had some exciting words about the upcoming event.
“I am excited to partner with Delta Sigma Theta to bring Dr. Satchel. This event will help educate me and my peers and encourage us to use our voice and our votes wisely on November 5th,” Davis said.
