For the fifth time in eight years of eligibility, Georgia Southern is headed to an NCAA postseason bowl game, as announced Sunday afternoon. Georgia Southern will meet Buffalo (6-6) of the Mid-American Conference in the Camellia Bowl at noon (ET)/11 a.m. (local) on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at the Historic Cramton Bowl. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN.
"We are extremely excited to be a part of this year's bowl season," said head coach Clay Helton. "We would like to thank the Camellia Bowl and the great city of Montgomery for this wonderful invitation. Congratulations to the Buffalo football team on a terrific season. This is sure to be an exciting matchup and we look forward to getting started with preparation."
The Camellia Bowl will mark the first football meeting between GS and Buffalo.

"We are excited to extend our season by playing Buffalo in Montgomery as our seniors have earned a chance to line up and wear the blue and white one last time. Tickets to the Camellia Bowl will go on sale to all of Eagle Nation, both online and via phone, beginning at 9 a.m. (ET) on Monday, Dec. 5. Tickets are $35, and fans may call 1-800-GSU-WINS from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., or go to GSEagles.com/Tickets to order tickets at any time after tickets go on sale. Seats will be assigned based on priority points if ordered by Sunday, Dec. 11 at 11:59 p.m. (ET).
If you put a deposit down for the bowl last week, DO NOT order tickets when tickets go on sale Monday. A ticket office representative will be in contact shortly to confirm your purchase.
Fans who are unable to attend the game are encouraged to consider purchasing tickets and donating them to the Wings program by clicking HERE. Wings is a program made possible by the Ticket Office that redistributes donated tickets to veterans, under-served youth, university groups, deserving families and charitable organizations.
Student tickets will be $25 and information will be forthcoming this week.
Georgia Southern has previous bowl victories in the GoDaddy Bowl (2015), Camellia Bowl (2018) and New Orleans Bowl (2020) and appeared in the 2019 Cure Bowl.
