Dr. Bubba Longgrear, Candler County School District Superintendent named 2024 Superintendent of the Year Finalist for Georgia

Candler County (Metter) School District Superintendent, Dr. Bubba Longgrear has been named one of four finalist for the prestigious 2024 Superintendent of the Year award for Georgia.

Dr. Bubba Longgrear, Candler County School District Superintendent, has been recognized as one of four 2024 Superintendent of the Year Finalists for the state of Georgia by the Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA)! 

"It is an honor to be recognized as a finalist," says Dr. Longgrear. "This is truly a recognition for the good work of our school system and community."

Nominations were received from August 2, 2023, to September 1, 2023.  Nominations were made by boards of education, colleagues, community members, and businesses, from all over our state.

There were 24 candidates nominated and four were selected as state finalists to represent the superintendent’s profession in Georgia. These four finalists will now move to the next phase of completing an application to enter the national competition, where one of the four will be selected to represent the state of Georgia against the other 49 states and Canada.
