Georgia Southern University will hold five separate graduation ceremonies this week in Statesboro and Savannah. See the schedule and attendance information. Congrats, grads!

The Statesboro High chapter of FBLA is hoping to send three students to Nationals this year and needs the community's help to fund their trips. A car wash is planned for this weekend.

At the event in Orlando, Georgia Southern students outperformed students from other prestigious universities in Georgia and Florida, including Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia, the University of Miami, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and more.

Students Katlyn Sullivan, Maggie Walker, Emma Adair, Blake Lanier, Jennifer Nguyen, Antoinette Davis, Kate Sproat, Marissa Hendrix, KJ Rhodes, Mallory Hardy, Taylor Mann, and Jaqueta Lewis were honored at the ceremony. Hendrix is a second-generation student in the Rad Tech program.

The National Technical Honor Society is dedicated to recognizing excellence in career and technical education.  Its mission is to honor student achievement and leadership, promote educational excellence, award scholarships, and enhance career opportunities. See a list of inductees in the article.

Join Ja'Kori as he describes the wonderful journey of discovery and inspiration, where the Great Promise Partnership and The City of Statesboro Village Builders organized a transformative event aimed at preparing students with the skills needed for success.

Students from Bulloch County were among the 100+ students to attend the event, which offered hands-on and virtual workshops, group training sessions, and one-on-one coaching.

Bulloch County native and current principal of Brooklet Elementary School Mike Yawn will retire at the end of this school year. Current BES assistant principal Krista Branch will serve as interim principal until the district names Yawn's permanent replacement.

The Rotary Club of Statesboro has selected 18 high school seniors as recipients of the 2024 Service Above Self Scholarships. The $1,000 scholarships will be used to fund their college educations.
