East Georgia Regional Medical Center will host a Heart Fair for the community on Tuesday, November 6th between the hours of 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm in the Education Classroom. Community members will have the opportunity to learn more about heart health, as well as other valuable health and wellness information.
Nurses will be on-site to provide free blood pressure checks, attendees can take a heart risk assessment, and there will be a great “hands-only” CPR training provided by local EMS partners. Dietitians will be on-site to provide healthy meal tips and give heart healthy recipes that you can easily make at home. There will be education on vein care, smoking cessation, automated external defibrillator (AED) usage, and attendees will meet representatives from the American Heart Association. Dr. Kendall Griffith, local cardiologist in Statesboro, will give an informative presentation at 4:30 pm, with a question and answer session afterward.
