Statesboro Food Bank gearing up for the 2025 Soup-er Bowl Saturday: Showdown!

Elaine Minick Stone, Shannon Grindler, Shannon Ward, and Sheila Stewart-Leach will compete in the Soup-er Bowl Showdown on February 8 at the Statesboro Food Bank, and Kim Riner and the ceramic artists of the Averitt Center are providing handcrafted bowls. The Food Bank, Inc. invites the community to attend the much-anticipated Soup-er Bowl Saturday: Showdown, a fundraising event taking place on February 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 506 Miller Street, Statesboro, GA.

This exciting culinary event will feature delicious soups crafted by local chefs, offering an opportunity for community fellowship and a chance to make a meaningful impact in the fight against hunger.

This year's talented lineup of soup chefs includes Elaine Minick Stone, Shannon Grindler, Shannon Ward, and Sheila Stewart-Leach. Each chef will showcase their signature recipes, promising an unforgettable tasting experience for attendees. Guests will also enjoy a special treat from the Ladies of the Mt. Zion AME Senior Mission, who will serve homemade pound cakes to complement the savory soups.

Additionally, The Food Bank, Inc. is deeply grateful to Kim Riner and the ceramic artists at the Averitt Center for the Arts for generously donating the handcrafted collector bowls featured at the event again this year.

Tickets are now on sale at Givebutter.com/souperbowl25 or can be purchased in person at Charlie’s Funky Junk Shop on West Main Street. Guests can choose from a variety of ticket options, including:

  • Savor & Save Bowl – $15
  • Collector’s Soup Bowl – $30
  • Crafted Comfort Bowl – $50

Proceeds from this fundraiser will directly benefit The Food Bank, Inc., which served nearly 1 million meals in 2024, addressing food insecurity in Bulloch County and surrounding areas.
