Battle in the Boro is coming to the Ag Arena May 2-3

The Southern Pullers Association is bringing competitive truck and tractor pulling back to Bulloch County this spring with the return of the Battle in the Boro Truck and Tractor Pull. The event is scheduled for Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Bulloch County Agricultural Complex, located at 44 Arena Boulevard in Statesboro.

This two-night event features a variety of modified trucks and tractors in a series of competitive pulling classes. The event is held in a covered arena, allowing the event to proceed rain or shine. Organizers say the setup provides a controlled environment for both participants and spectators while showcasing the power and mechanics of highly customized vehicles.

Featured competition classes include:

  • 2WD Modified
  • 2WD Prostreet
  • 2WD Prostock
  • 2WD Non-Blown
  • 4WD Prostreet
  • 2WD Supermodified
  • 4WD Modified
  • 2.6 Prostreet Diesel
  • Light Prostock Tractors
  • Super Semis

Gates will open at 5:00 PM on both Friday and Saturday. Pulling events are scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM each night. Admission is available at the gate, and cash is required. Entry costs are $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children 5 and under. Parking is free and available onsite.

Truck and tractor pulling is a motorsport where modified vehicles compete to pull a heavy sled as far as possible down a dirt track. Each vehicle is categorized by weight, modifications, and engine type. It is a sport rooted in agricultural tradition but has grown into a mechanical showcase drawing fans of both competition and engineering.

Organizers encourage spectators to bring ear protection, especially for younger children, as the engines used in many of the vehicle classes produce very high noise levels. Disposable ear plugs will be available for purchase at the event for $1 per pair.

The Bulloch County Agricultural Complex, located just off Langston Chapel Road, has hosted a wide variety of community events and exhibitions. The venue includes ample seating and covered space to accommodate large crowds for competitive and demonstration-style events like this.
