After months of speculation and rising questions from the community, it has been confirmed that a new storage facility is coming to Henry Boulevard near the Veterans Memorial Parkway in Statesboro beside Mavis Tire and Olive Garden.
We know this is tremendously disappointing to many of you who have read the social media rumors and speculations that it was going to be a Target, Kroger, Old Navy, chicken restaurant, Parkers or liquor store....to name a few.
According to Justin Williams, Statesboro's Planning and Housing Administrator, the site beside Olive Garden, officially known as Lot 9 on Henry Boulevard in the Statesboro Crossing shopping center, will soon be home to Statesboro Climate Controlled Storage. The building permit for the project was issued for construction on November 26, 2024. Site work is nearly complete and the building construction is beginning.
The property had been the subject of widespread rumors throughout the community. However, the official plans confirm that the site will house a climate-controlled storage facility, offering temperature- and humidity-regulated units for both residents and businesses.
Located just off the busy bypass corridor, the facility is expected to offer a convenient storage solution for the growing needs of Statesboro and Bulloch County.
Further updates, including an estimated completion date, are expected as construction moves forward.
