The Statesboro Amateur Radio Society and the Southeastern Amateur Radio Association will host a special event station this weekend in honor of Blind Willie McTell's birthday. He was born May 5, 1898, in Douglas, GA. The event station will use the special call sign W4M.

The auction is the Humane Society's largest and most successful fundraising event of the year, and all of the proceeds go to rescue and spay/neuter programs. Check out some of the items that will be available this year!

This Saturday, the Statesboro YMCA will welcome the community for a day packed with fun and free activities promoting a healthy physical and mental lifestyle for kids and families as they gear up for summer.

It was a team effort on Wednesday, May 1, to pack more than 1,200 bags of hygiene products for young people in our community to use over the summer.

This month's food drop is dedicated to Statesboro Police officer Joey DeLoach, who was recently injured in the line of duty. Recipients are encouraged to get in line early for the distribution, which will take place at Statesboro High School.

Dancing with the Savannah Stars benefits Brightside Advocacy, which provides services to prevent child abuse and neglect by strengthening and supporting healthy family relationships.

Esther's Place is teaming up with local vendors, artisans, and businesses to bring their first-annual Esther in the Boro marketplace event. This event will offer handcrafted items, as well and vintage and antique items to please every shopper. There will also be delicious food, and a whole lot of fun.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Coastal Georgia, the agency that partners with Feed the Boro to provide food for monthly food drops, recently cut the ribbon on their new campus located in Savannah, GA.
