Flooding on South College Street in Statesboro

Thousands of citizens in Bulloch and surrounding counties remain without power and large amounts of debris in their yards.  Power crews are out in full force working to restore power. Excelsior EMC has already restored over 2,000 customers.  One of the power companies challenges has been the large number of trees down and roads that are washed out or have become impassable.

Road crews are working with power companies to clear power lines and opening roads as quickly as possible.  As of 8:30 AM there are more than 50 roads in Bulloch County with issues.

Please do not call 911 unless an emergency exists
