Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief establishes Bulloch command center to help flood victims

Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief and Recovery Assistance mobile command center has been deployed to Southbridge Community Church in Statesboro, GA. Any citizens who needs flood recovery assistance are encouraged to reach out to them. The volunteers will provide their services at no cost, helping residents remove damaged items and sanitize their homes.

Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief Volunteers have set up a mobile command center at Southbridge Community Chruch in Statesboro, GA to provide critical assistance to homeowners impacted by recent flooding. Their support is being offered at no cost to the affected residents.

Trained assessors are in the area making initial assessments and clean up crews will start working on Thursday.  

"We will remove anything that the floodwater has touched—furniture, flooring, wallboard, insulation, cabinets, and more," said Dwain Carter, Mission Mobilization/Disaster Relief Director for the Georgia Baptist Mission Board. "Our team will also power wash and apply Shockwave sanitizer to inhibit mold growth. All our volunteers are trained, background-checked, credentialed, and uniformed."

This initiative is part of the broader ministry of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board, with volunteers from across Georgia coming together to bring help, hope, and healing to those in need. "In the middle of storms, God moves," the organization shared. "He calls His people to compassionately respond to those who are most affected, and He moves in the heart of those who are saddened, angry, and lost. It's in moments like this that the Church has the opportunity and privilege to be the hands, feet, and voice of Jesus."
