Georgia Southern's (GS) relay team posted the fourth-best time in school history and finished second at the recently held USC Open.
"This weekend was a hit-and-miss weekend for us. We had some really good performances, and we also need to put some work in some areas,” said coach David Neville.
Eagle Lily Ball registered the tenth-best time in the 5,000 to lead GS’s distance runners at the Georgia Tech Invitational.
The relay team of Kennedy Hood, Montse Rodriguez, NaJ Watson and Imani Moore finished in 45.10, and Ball ran the 5K in 18:49.64.
Sam Holbrook recorded the fifth-best mark in program history in the hammer throw with 48.65m.
Sofia Molina posted the ninth-fastest time in the 400 with 56.46. And, Isabel Ptacek knocked 10 seconds off her time to record a personal best in the 1,500 with 4:59.05.
Watson finished fourth in the 100-meter dash (11.51) and seventh in the 200 (23.70). Additionally, Donisha Jeanty placed seventh in the 400 hurdles with 1:03.27.
“Although we faced some challenges as a team, we held it together. Moving towards the end of the regular season, it is my hope we can fix the areas that need to be, and we can continue improving some of our already good performances," Neville said.
