Georgia Southern head rifle coach Soren Butler has announced the Eagles' 2024-25 rifle schedule. New trips and old rivals await the Eagles' return to the range and look to finish the task of qualifying for the program's first NCAA Championship appearance.

Here's a look at the Eagles' 2024-25 schedule:

The Eagles kick off the campaign in October with three home matches at the Shooting Sports Education Center. After hosting North Georgia and Georgia Military to open the season on the 5th, perennial power West Virginia comes to town on the 6th. On the 12th, The Citadel and Kentucky, another national power, will compete at the SSEC. The month concludes with a trip to New York for the first time to take on Army West Point (19th) and defending national champ TCU (20th).

November opens with a trip to VMI for a pair of SoCon matches against the Keydets, followed by a home date on the 22nd against a pair of 2024 NCAA qualifiers in Alaska Fairbanks (2023 national champ) and Ole Miss.

The team will head to Hawaii for a winter training trip in early January before hitting the road in the new year as they travel to Murray State on the 11th and make the return trip to Kentucky a day later. The month ends with the program's first road trip to TCU in Ft. Worth, Texas, on the 25th.

February's schedule will look different than in year's past as the conference championships have been moved up a month. Georgia Southern will host the SoCon Championships for the third time in program history on Feb. 8-9 at the Shooting Sports Education Center and then will host Wofford on the 15th and North Georgia in the NCAA Qualifier on the 22nd.

The 2025 NCAA Rifle Championships will be held March 14 & 15 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.

Georgia Southern, the three-time defending SoCon champions who finished ninth in the county last season, return four of five starters from a year ago and add three strong shooters to the program. The Eagles were ranked as high as third in the country and fell one point short of qualifying for the Championships.

Of the eight teams to qualify for the 2024 NCAA Rifle Championships, Georgia Southern will face five of them, including national champ TCU twice, runner-up West Virginia, third-place Alaska Fairbanks, fourth-place Kentucky twice and seventh-place Ole Miss.

All home matches are held at the Shooting Sports Education Center and are free for all to attend.
