Mrs. Sybil Ann Stepherson Bazemore, age 76, died Saturday, December, 14th, 2024, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility in Statesboro. The Guyton, Georgia native was raised in Newington, Georgia and was the daughter of the late William Cody and Luneade Stewart Stepherson . She was a 1966 graduate of Screven County High School. Following high school, Sybil attended cosmetology school in Savannah. She opened Sybil’s Beauty Shop in 1968, that she owned and operated until her retirement in 2016. Following her retirement, she continued to work at Ross Drug for several years.
She was a member of Little Horse Creek Baptist Church.
Sybil was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wayne Bazemore and two children, Stanley Wayne Bazemore, Jr. and Joseph Wayne Bazemore.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, April and Mark Counts and Allison and Michael Sturdivant; her grandchildren, Kayla and Josh Patrick, Will Counts, Brody Sturdivant and Allianne Sturdivant and two great grandchildren, Reese and Cooper Patrick. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home Screven Chapel.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 17, at 11:00am in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Cade Bazemore officiating, assisted by Rev. Ralph Dixon, Jr.
Interment will be in the Screven Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Will Counts, Josh Patrick, Brody Sturdivant, Jeremy Bazemore, Barrett Rahn and Jeff Stewart.
