Mr. George W. Loper, age 66, died on Monday, December 30th, 2024, at East Georgia Regional Hospital in Statesboro, GA. George was born in Chatham County on April 2nd, 1958. He attended Jenkins High School and later worked as a salesman until his retirement. George enjoyed spending Saturday afternoons watching football and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was an avid reader of history and loved a good thriller novel. George was a loyal and loving man. He was dedicated to his family and University of Georgia football. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Matthew Wells and Marguerite Wells, as well as his paternal grandparents, Clyde Loper Sr. and Suenell Loper. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Loper.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Denise Loper, his two daughters, Jessica Skarda and Victoria Bryarly. Two sons-in-law, Robert Skarda and Matthew Bryarly. Five grandchildren, Marguerite, Annabelle, Hailey Grace, James, and Josephine. He is also survived by his parents, Darrel and Jane Loper, as well as his sister, Amanda Randall (Neil Randall).
The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 3rd from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Old Fellowship Baptist Church in Stilson, GA. The funeral will be held immediately afterward with Pastor Tommy White officiating.
Internment will be at Old Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Skarda, Matthew Bryarly, Neil Randall, and Matthew Randall.
