Dacaris Waymon Alexander Nigel Carr, affectionately known as "Duke," was born on May 20, 2002, in Heidelberg, Germany. He departed this life on Monday, January 27, 2025, in Statesboro, Georgia.
Duke was raised in a nurturing environment and was educated in the Bulloch County School system, where he attended Statesboro High School. His commitment to learning and personal growth was evident throughout his educational journey. Following school, Duke embarked on a career in the manufacturing field, where he held various roles, ultimately serving as a machine operator for Perdue Farms.
A person of quiet demeanor, Duke was known as being very nice, shy, and exceptionally kind-hearted. He found joy in life's simple pleasures, dedicating time to activities that brought him happiness. He loved listening to music, reading books, playing video games, and cherishing moments spent with his beloved niece and nephews.
Dacaris is survived by his loving family: his mother, Clarissa T. Sheffield of Statesboro, GA; and his father, Waymon W. Carr of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by his siblings: sisters Domenica Sheffield of Statesboro, GA; Jaileen Carr of Atlanta, GA; and Eileen Carr of Atlanta, GA; and a brother Waymon Carr of Atlanta, GA. The love and support he shared with his family will continue to resonate in their hearts as they remember him.
Public viewing for Mr. Carr will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by the family visitation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Carr will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Agape Worship Center, 810 W Grady St, Statesboro, GA with Minister Ed Scott, eulogist, Elder Lisa Deloach, presiding; Elder Donald Chavers, Jr., pastor.
Final disposition for Mr. Carr will be cremation.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
