Welcome back, Wildlife Center!

The community's much-loved Center for Wildlife Education and Lamar Q. Ball, Jr. Raptor Center is open to the public following months of debris cleanup and repairs, which were the result of Hurricane Helene.

On Monday, January 6, 2025, the Center for Wildlife Education at Georgia Southern University re-opened to the public.

The center closed in October following damages from Hurricane Helene. Over the last few months, staff have worked to clear debris and make repairs, and announced in December that they would be re-opening in January.

"We are so excited to welcome visitors back to the Center, and thank you for your patience during the aftermath of Hurricane Helene," the Center for Wildlife Education shared on social media.

While the center and grounds are open, the Raptor Walkway exhibit is closed for continued renovations that were delayed from the storm. Visitors can still see the raptors during their scheduled daily program at 3:30pm Monday - Friday.

The Center for Wildlife Education is located at 1461 Forest Drive, Statesboro, Georgia on the Georgia Southern University campus.

They are open Monday - Friday from 9am - 4:45pm and Saturday from 1pm - 4:45pm.
