On Wednesday, November 1, two of Southeast Bulloch High School's back-to-back state championship flag football team members, #5 Korine Talkington and #16 Addie Hood, officially signed to play flag football at the collegiate level.

"It is a privilege and an honor to speak at their athletic signing ceremony, where we witness our young athletes' commitments to the next chapter of their lives," SEB Flag Football Head Coach Marci Cochran said at the event. "Athletic signings are not just about celebration of talent. They are a testament to the unwavering commitment, discipline, and perseverance that our athletes have displayed throughout their journey."

Korine Talkington will play for the Campbellsville University Tigers in Campbellsville, Kentucky. She is described by her coach as having excellent leadership qualities, organizing player-only practices during the off season and showing a willingness to help underclassmen learn the game. Talkington ranks second in program history in both passing yards and passing TDs with a total of 2,570 yards and 45 touchdowns.

Addie Hood will join the team for the Florida Gateway College Timberwolves in Lake City, FL. The Timberwolves won the 2023 NJCAA Flag Football Championship. She is described by her coach as being a leader on the field with a tough, "no quit" attitude that has contributed to the positive culture of the program. Hood is the program's all-time interception leader with a total of 24. She also has 88 flag pulls and 802 receiving yards.

Hood will be joining her sister Ainsleigh Littles on the Timberwolves team. She is excited to be reunited on the field.

"I miss her every day, and being able to be out there with her playing at a higher level is going to be really exciting," Hood said. "I can't wait."

According to Bulloch County Schools, these signings will make three members of the SEBHS flag football team to play in college in only three years of the program's existence. In March, Littles, the team’s former quarterback and cornerback, also signed with Florida Gateway College.

"Congratulations to Addie and Korine," Coach Cochran said. "You have made your schools and communities proud, and we can't wait to see the great things you'll achieve in the future. We will continue to cheer you on and support you every step of the way."

Cochran, who is also a first grade teacher at Brooklet Elementary School, is assisted by Coaches Nick Cochran, Paula Kitchings, Jenni Youmans, and Jay Reddick.
