Statesboro apartment heavily damaged by fire

Thanks to rapid response and aggressive fire attack the fire was contained to one apartment in the complex

Statesboro and Bulloch Fire departments responded to a statesboro apartment fire on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Bulloch County 911 dispatched emergency services at 6:15 pm to a fire in building Y at the Copper Beech apartment complex in the 1400 block of Plantation Circle in Statesboro.

Flames and heavy smoke were reported coming from the apartment when the call was dispatched. Statesboro Fire department Engine Two was the first to arrive on the scene, within three minutes from the initial call, and confirmed visible flames and heavy smoke coming from the apartment. The fire scene commander requested additional resources and personnel to respond to the scene.

Bulloch County QR 1, Bulloch County Engine 72, Statesboro Fire Tower One and Statesboro Fire Battalion One responded to assist along with Bulloch County EMS and Statesboro Police Department.

Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and knocked the fire down in minutes. The quick attack allowed them to contain the fire to one apartment. They also determined that everyone was safely out of the apartment. The fire required extensive overhaul and fire personnel remained on the scene for over an hour.

The apartment suffered heavy fire, smoke and water damage. Bulloch County EMS responded to the scene as a precaution but there were no reported injuries.

Statesboro Fire CAFE Unit along with an American Red Cross DAT team responded to assist the victims of the fire.

Statesboro Police also responded to assist and manage crowd control.
