While the 2024 Turpentine Festival was canceled, the community can still support the Portal Heritage Society in other ways.

Despite the cancelation of this year’s Turpentine Festival due to Hurricane Helene, the Portal Heritage Society continues to press forward with cleanup efforts and community-driven initiatives.

The festival grounds sustained some damage, but the community is coming together to restore the area, and donations are welcome. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to sponsor next year’s event or contribute to ongoing restoration work.

Turpentine Festival merchandise still available

While the festival couldn't take place as planned, the Society still has products for sale, including turpentine, soap, hats, and koozies. These items, which showcase the region’s rich history, are available for purchase online through the Portal Heritage Society’s website or in person at scheduled pickup times. Purchases can also be made via the website here.
