MLK Parade canceled due to weather; alternative events announced

Due to anticipated inclement weather, the annual MLK Day Parade scheduled for Saturday, January 18th, has been canceled for the safety of all involved. Organizers are encouraging the community to participate in alternative events throughout the weekend to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy.

The MLK Parade has been cancelled.

The organizers of the annual MLK Day Parade have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event, originally scheduled for Saturday, January 18th, due to anticipated inclement weather in the area. With the safety of volunteers, parade participants, and attendees as the top priority, the decision was made after careful consideration of weather forecasts.

All organizations that registered for the parade will receive a full refund of their registration fees.

While the parade is canceled, the community is encouraged to participate in other MLK weekend events:

Come out to volunteer and support the nonprofit organization Restoring the Breach.
