On Saturday, June 15, 2024, GATAMANIA, the summer pro wrestling fundraiser event for the GS Chapter of the AIA, returns for the seventh year in a row. The family friendly, Father's Day weekend event will be held at The Blue Room, 1830 Chandler Rd., right across from Paulson Stadium in Statesboro.
This year’s GATAMANIA will feature a “Women’s Revolution,” where three of the scheduled six matches will have women's professional wrestling matchups. This includes the impressive Main Event battle between the amazing Amber Nova vs. the wicked Hyena Hera.
The Blue Room will be offering food, soft drinks, and adult beverage specials all night long. Tickets are only $5, and they will be available at the door the day of the event starting at 5:30pm. Cash, Cash App, and Venmo will be accepted.
Organizers have once again kept the ticket prices low so that you can treat yourself and your family and friends to The Blue Room’s famous wings, chicken fingers, and their vast selection of adult beverages. You can also purchase wrestler t-shirts, photos, and other merchandise.
The event will be held inside the air-conditioned Blue Room. There are inside restrooms and plenty of well-lit and safe parking. Organizers recommend that you get there early. VIP/sponsor reserved seating starts at 5:15pm, and general admission starts at 5:30pm.
A special “Meet and Greet” with the wrestlers, headlined by Amber Nova, begins at that time! At this “Meet and Greet,” you will be able to talk to the wrestlers, take pictures, buy their merchandise, and have a lot more family fun!
Starting at 5:45pm, the Master of Ceremonies, the outright legend CUJO, will kick-off the show and introduce the preliminary Emerald Match. During this early opening bout, the “Meet and Greet” will continue, so that you will have double the fun!
The official bell time begins at 6pm. At that time, Statesboro’s own Travis “Alex” Bilger of Eagle Radio 94.9, who is the event’s special guest ring announcer, will kick off the show. The event with be filmed for YouTube viewing.
According to APW’s Commissioner Miss Lil T, this year’s event is all about a Women’s Revolution.
”As a leader in diversity and equality, this year we wanted to have an equal number of men and women matches, with an extra emphasis on the women. These athletes are just as talented as the men, if not even more," Lil T said. "We are excited for the fans because they will be in awe of their true athleticism and performance. It is an honor that we can showcase them. In fact, from here on in, every future GATAMANIA will feature an equal number of men and women matches, and probably more of the latter.”
