“Autumn’s Serenade”: Join the Georgia Southern Symphony String Camerata for its fall concert Sunday

The Georgia Southern Symphony String Camerata will present its Fall concert, "Autumn’s Serenade," featuring works by Sibelius, Kalinnikov, and Holst, on Sunday, November 3 with free admission for all.

The Georgia Southern Symphony String Camerata, under the direction of Dr. Steven Elisha, will hold the Fall concert – “Autumn’s Serenade,” on Sunday, November 3 at 2:30pm, in the Carol A. Carter Recital Hall (Georgia Southern Statesboro Campus).

The program features Jean Sibelius’s Andante festive and Impromptu for String Orchestra, Vasily Kalinnikov’s Serenade for String Orchestra, as well as Gustav Holst’s iconic St. Paul’s Suite. The concert is free admission and open to the public.

. Georgia Southern Symphony String Camerata

The Georgia Southern Symphony and String Camerata, a premier ensemble of the Gretsch School of Music, received a prestigious grant by the Halle Foundation in Atlanta for their tour of Germany in May, 2024. The 18-member ensemble performed before enthusiastic audiences in Berlin, Halle an der Saale, Leipzig, and Bamberg, Germany.

The award-winning Georgia Southern Symphony has been a recipient of an Emmy Award and featured in performances throughout the State and Region, including the Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conferences, the Georgia Governor’s Mansion, as well as at the Performing Arts Center and Carol A. Carter Recital Hall on the Statesboro Campus, Fine Arts Auditorium (Savannah), the Dublin (Georgia) Arts Council Gala and Vidalia’s historic Pal Theater.
